Kakheti is one of the most diverse and interesting regions of Georgia. Therefore, in its heart, the city Gurjaani, a new winery guesthouse „Kakhetis Guli” (Georgian Heart) was opened in 2014. The winery has a beautiful location with the marvelous view at the peaks of the Caucasus and is composed of a medium size vineyard and two floor guesthouse. Stay in our winery will offer You everything that is needed for a good rest and exploration of Georgian culture and tradition.
First of all, you should know that Georgia is regarded to be the oldest wine making tradition in the world, where wine was being made in traditional clay vessels called kvevri from 7.000 to 8.000 years ago. In our winery you will have an opportunity to taste one of the most popular grape varities in Kakheti named Rkatsitieli, which is a white dry wine, of light straw colour, as well as grape vodka called chacha (54 %). We produce the wine in a natural way without
using sugar and chemical additions where a squizzed grape juice is the basis. You will get familiar with the Georgian traditional cuisine and taste the natural regional products provided by the neighbouring families. According to your wish, you will be given a chance to participate in making some of the regional products like
churchhella (grape snickers) or lavash (traditional bread) or wine harvesting if you come in the right time mid of September).
The guesthouse has four fully equipped rooms with capacity for 12 persons. Every room has its own bathroom and toilet. In addition, the guesthouse has a marani (basement where wine and chacha is produced), a Georgian style restaurant, kitchen and a big terrace
from which you can admire the Alazani Valley and the range of Caucasus mountains. The house was partially built of wood and stone and decorated based on the Georgian tradition and style (see the photos).
The central location of the Gurjaani city gives us a possibility to organize one day trips to the most interesting destinations
in Kakheti region like: Telavi (capital of the region), Ikalto (Academy and complex of monastries), Alaverdi (big cathedral), Sighnaghi (city of love), Kvareli and surroundings (wine tours), Gremi and Nekresi (old monastries), Lagodekhi and Vashlovani National Parks (waterfalls, trekking routes, birdwatching) or David Gareja (complex of cave monastries). All those places are within 30-60 minutes of travel. Below, we are giving the exemplary program for stay in our winery. We are adjusting the program to the needs and expectations of our guests. All the details are agreed indvidually through email or phone correspondence.
Upon request, we are also organizing stay and trekking in further destinations like Pankisi Valley, Tusheti (beautiful mountains) or Khevsureti region ( Shatili and Mutso - famous tower towns).
